Take Your Opportunities for Pause this June
"Slow down, you move too fast / You gotta make the morning last"
-Simon & Garfunkel
As the days get hotter and longer and brighter, the weather beckons you outside and into the wild. I often talk about the benefits of challenging yourself physically and going on adventures that push your body to the limits, but I also think there is much to gain from allowing the natural world to provide healing and restoration.
The sunshine and trees and ocean can be a site of rest and relaxation. Just taking yourself outside into the elements, away from your computer screen and phone can have profound physical and mental health benefits.
This past month, Steve and I took a vacation to Utah where our intention was to immerse ourselves in the beautiful and dramatic scenery. We went on many hikes outdoors, but our objective was not to test our physical abilities. We used our time in the desert to rest and reflect after a very busy year and focus on all the sights, sounds and textures of the rocky terrain.
I hope you are able to fill up on sunshine and good company this month, and spend time among the natural wonders that surround you. These environmental features can restore you and allow you to breath deeper and slower. I invite you to take a walk outside.

Last year's ride raised over $156,000. Join the group on intrepid riders and participants for a gorgeous day of riding through the Fraser Valley. The event raises funds and awareness to support the development of new technologies, new clinical procedures, and teaching techniques to combat hearing loss.

On a personal note...
Before I sign off, I’d like to briefly acknowledge my husband Steve, partner in business and (more importantly) life, and wonderful father to our son. Our son Aaron and I are so grateful to him for the unconditional support and kindness he extends to us and everyone he comes into contact with. Cheers to Steve and all the paternal figures and mentors who light the way for those in need.
All my very best,
