Spring Blossom
April 4, 2011
At the beginning of each year, I usually indulge myself in buying beautiful new journals. This year, I bought four. I love journaling and the pages of these new books inspire me to write. Two nights ago, I started on a new journal and the one that I picked had pretty flowers on the cover. As I studied and admired the beauty of my new journal, I noticed that there was a label on it, “Spring Blossoms”. How appropriate, I thought.
“Spring Blossoms”, two simple yet powerful words. These words conjure up life, new beginnings and the perfection of nature’s display. I reflected back to my earlier journal entries in January, what I had wanted to accomplish and how far I have come along. January seemed like such a long time ago. So much has happened since then. The world seemed a lot less complicated.
I wanted to add my new inspiration and retrospection into this new journal. It was the perfect opportunity for me to take stock of where 2011 was heading and how I have been doing. Spring is the transition between winter and summer, taking us from darkness to light.
Sincerely,
Mindy

A Welcome to Spring
Spring is a time of renewal and new beginnings. It is a fresh start not only for Mother Earth but also has a wonderful effect on our emotional well being. Spring makes us feel more willing to take risks and try new things. Here are a few simple ways in which you can put a spring back in your step:
1) Spring means fitness. A good place to start is in the department of fitness and health. I am gearing up my cycling again and getting outside allows me to enjoy the beauty of spring. Start afresh if you have strayed off working out in the winter. A mere 20 minutes a day can give you a real boost. Set your personal objectives.
2) Spring means color. Spruce up your home or garden. Re-arranging your furniture can get you excited, renewed and rejuvenated. Sometimes just adding some color by creating accent walls, adding new colored cushions or green plants in your home will make a world of difference.
3) Spring means freshness. A great way to feel that freshness is to de-clutter and purge. Simple editing and deleting from your home or office can be refreshing. Throw out things that you have not used in a year. Donate clothes and shoes that don’t fit you anymore or you’ve grown tired of. You’ll be surprised at how therapeutic de-cluttering and purging can be.
4) Spring means socializing. Get out and meet your friends and family. Or better still, make new friends. If you have a specific hobby, join an organization or club with people who have common interests. Volunteering is another great way for you to meet people of all ages who have a passion for change like you do. Be positive and friendly and you will be appreciated for who you are.
5) Spring means blossoming. Find ways that would help you `bloom ‘. Learn a new skill or brush up something that you used to love doing, like martial arts, dance or language. The web is also a great resource to help you learn new skills like cooking, knitting or building your own soapbox kart!
Spring is not just a change of season but also a great time for us to start over. It is the season for second chances and the chance to heal.
