October Newsletter - Fall into Festivities

I felt firsthand the change in the weather on my hike on Sunday. The sun was shining brilliantly at the base that day, but as we hiked the weather changed. Mountain weather can be unpredictable. It was windy and you could feel the chill, and soon it started to drizzle a little and then hail - at least that’s what I thought. Our friend HC explained that Graupel isn’t snow, nor sleet, nor hail. It was the first time I’ve heard a name for the type of tiny hail that I have experienced many times.

Summer is over in the mountains for sure; the colors of the wild blueberry bushes, the wet and muddy sections were all evidence of the oncoming winter. Be prepared, and ensure that you have the right gear when heading into the mountains.

I also spent the rest of my weekend switching my wardrobe in preparation for the fall and winter. October is here! I hope that we are blessed with many days of Indian Summer.

However, October promises to bring lots of fun and festivities, with Thanksgiving and Halloween – two very different celebrations – bringing us together.

Small Business Month
